The Simpsons Movie

Filed under: movies — mahou @ 9:26 pm

Big disappointment. I was expecting it to be bad, but was told they had
brought some writers back from the Golden Age. Unfortunately this seemed
like a long modern episode with bits from older episodes tagged on ( the
hounds, grandpa walking in a circle on the ground, motorcycle in a
circle etc).
The Simpsons at its best was a sitcom that could have been live action,
whereas this was full of nonsensical slapstick cartoon moments,
destroyed the character of Bart by making him soulless and evil instead
of mischievous and further ruined Homer who should be played as stupid
and greedy, not some action hero who thinks about his actions.
The disaster premise seemed out of place, where a good comedy plot would
have been better, with the best locations utilised such as the
retirement home, kwik-e-mart and nuclear plant.
