Eternal Darkness

Filed under: Video games — mahou @ 10:06 pm

Average action adventure game with tedious fmv, poorly playtested and lacking any real quality.

The spells system is innovative but poorly explained in game, the sanity meter is clever but rendered useless as your character develops and there are several points where you have to rely on FAQs or just experiement with every spell on items to progress.

  1. Eternal Darkness is an amazing game and one of my favorite games of all time. Atmospheric, historic, detailed, well-designed spell system, and it’s very scary without being cheap with ammo or saves like Resident Evil. I never had to resort to FAQs, I think the game’s internal logic made almost every puzzle quite easy to solve. And it looks incredible for having been originally designed on the N64!
